Mr grinch..front and center..
Its hard not being the grinch this season..
Money is tight...shopping is a bitch experience for anyone with a penis...and people lose the ability to drive during the holidays..
Now i dont mind a sparse christmas..i grew up uber poor and on welfare. At age like 8 i stopped wanting anything for christmas. To me the season became more about people than presents.
I had the shittyist christmas on record when i was like 23..unemployed and broke..came home for christmas...and everything just melted away.. It didnt matter..I was loved.
Since then ive been blessed and had christmases where presents overflowed the tree.
This christmas i was able to work my magic in july and gave my savings so my roommate could get a newer car. My down payment helped him swing terms he could afford.
Hence the lack of funds this christmas. But lets just say it stopped me from trying to duck tape a 20 yr old jeep back together.
Now the season is coming upon my like a tidal wave and honestly im feeling overwhelmed.
So maybe your local grinch...isnt such a grinch after all...his heart grew 3 sizes that day and he gave all.
Now hes just broke and trying not to get caught up in the season.

Well obviously there is a snafu. I said Christmas is about people. Yet it's hard not to be grinchy when everyone is losing their minds

Your values are sound. Don't worry about the commercial stuff.
If you're a handy sort, a handmade gift given with love trumps diamonds, furs and story-bought toys.
We've all been there. Those of us who choose to remember those times appreciate the lessons learned. Your good deed from the summer will return to you sevenfold.
